// Personally

I’m a mom of four, I love spending time with my family and seeing my children grow.

On the side, I have so many interests and hobbies. I spend lots of time in the weight room, reading and exploring the outdoors.  I enjoy running and paddle boarding.  My other true passions are music, photography and modeling.  I am a pianist, singer and flutist, photographer and model.

Pictured: I enjoy running and adventure racing – this was at the Mudgirl women’s obstacle race in Hamilton.

// Why Therapy?

You don’t need to be alone with your pain.

Since I was a little girl I wanted to help people so they don’t feel alone in their pain.  Growing up, my hero was Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing care.  When I was taking my first psychology class during my undergraduate degree, the professor said that a therapist is a nurse for the soul and that really stuck with me.

One summer, it all clicked.

I was already volunteering my summers at a crisis centre, and it all clicked. I realized this is what I was meant to do, and still have the same passion now that I had volunteering years ago.

A therapist is a nurse for the soul.

For the last 12 years, I have been sitting with people and their pain.  I continually get to witness people’s resilience, ability to heal and the profound impact safety and connection can have on their healing journey. I love what I do and look forward to getting to know each new person I work with.

Ongoing Education & Training

Emotionally Focused Therapy

2024

Attachment theory helps us to understand how our early experiences with caregivers impact our relationships throughout the lifespan. By understanding our behaviours as protective coping strategies, we create space to evaluate what strategies are no longer serving us well and to adopt new ways of being in relationship with others.

Advanced Clinical Supervision

2023

Smith College’s psychodynamic approach to clinical supervision focuses on the clinicians’ relationship to the therapeutic process and their role within it. Supervision is a cornerstone of effective clinical practice. Supporting clinicians in their professional development is critical for clinical work and clinician well-being.

Strong Interest Inventory

2024

The Strong Interest Inventory ®  assessment is a career exploration and planning tool designed to identify an individual’s interests and work preferences. It helps people explore potential careers and educational pathways that align with their interests, leading to more informed decisions and successful, fulfilling careers.
