We provide clear, detailed receipts after every session, and our admin team is happy to help you understand your coverage before you book.

We won’t pretend that therapy is free. But we can help you understand what options you have and make the most of them.

Understanding the Cost of Therapy in Hamilton

Therapy is an investment in your mental health – and like any investment, it’s worth understanding what you’re getting. In Hamilton, sessions with registered psychotherapists typically range from $130 to $200 per session, depending on the therapist’s level of training and the length of the session. Extended Health Benefits (Most Common)

The majority of Ontario employer benefit plans include coverage for registered psychotherapists and registered social workers. Empire therapists hold both designations. Coverage amounts vary by plan, commonly $500 to $2,000 per year, and we provide official receipts for all sessions.

How to Check Your Benefits

Look for ‘psychotherapy,’ ‘registered psychotherapist,’ or ‘social worker’ in your plan documents. Call your provider with those exact terms and ask about your annual maximum and any per-session caps.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

Many workplaces offer EAP benefits that include a set number of free counselling sessions. Check with your HR department – this is a commonly overlooked benefit.

Online Sessions
